Job Description
The Environmental Services Aide maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in all areas of the Hospital in accordance with HealthSouth quality standards.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
License or Certification:
N/A
Total Education, Vocational Training and Experience:
High School diploma or GED preferred
Previous housekeeping experience preferred
Machines, Equipment Used:
General office equipment such as: telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer
High duster, vacuum, mop, spray bottles, floor polisher, linen carts, trash carts
Physical Requirements:
Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, stretch, reach for an extended period of time
Ability to safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to push or pull objects with 75 pounds of force
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English
Ability to work independently without supervision
Environmental Conditions:
Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure
Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required
Exposure to cleaning solvents & chemicals
May work under stressful circumstances at times
Proficiency or Productivity Standards:
May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines
May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts
Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e. before, during or after a disaster
May be required to stay after workday to assist after a disaster situation until relief arrives
Regular attendance and reporting on time to work is a requirement of position
