Job Description
Manage regulatory accounting and reporting function and personnel to ensure compliance with all filing and reporting requirements of the NMPRC, PUCT and FERC. Provide written and live expert accounting testimony on behalf of the Company in rate cases, fuel reconciliations and other cases filed before utility regulatory commissions or in which the Company is a participant.
Job Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for the position.
EDUCATION AND/OR SPECIAL TRAINING:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a B.B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting. CPA required.
EXPERIENCE AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ten (10) years of related experience, at least five (5) of which must be within the regulatory or accounting areas of an electric utility.
2. Knowledge of generally-accepted ratemaking principles, practices and procedures.
3. Knowledge of FERC system of accounts, Company accounting methods and generally-accepted accounting principles.
4. Supervisory and project management experience.
5. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with Company officers, managers and employees, in addition to relationships with significant external contacts such as regulatory agencies, customers, intervenors and legal counsel.
7. Ability to work unscheduled overtime, irregular hours and to travel as required.
8. Knowledge of various personal computer software applications.
9. Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
