DNA Search is recruiting for a House Supervisor for a 120 bed hospital. This House Supervisor will be responsible for managing all issues during the night shift.
- The Nursing House Supervisor executes complex managerial and administrative responsibilities associated with critical health care issues and activities that influence the organizational mission, health care, and policy.
- The Nursing House Supervisor promotes and maintains the quality and effectiveness of patient care by coordinating and managing the evaluation and improvement of the total range of patient care services. Demonstrates effective leadership skills of delegation, organization, and coordination of managing assigned service; delegates responsibilities to designate staff as appropriate.
- Functions as a role model for Nursing staff.Role models problem solving as the effective means of managing/resolving conflict.Develops and maintains effective working relationships with staff, management, and other members of the health team.
- Collaborates with Nurse Managers to maintain adequate levels of staff to deliver safe, effective and appropriate care an remain within the budgetary guidelines.
- Exercises good judgment and discretion in deviating from policy in circumstances where strict adherence would pose a risk to patient, visitor, staff or facility.
- Functions as a role model in clinical specialty, demonstrating competency in clinical judgment, selected technical skills and appropriate knowledge base.
- Provides clinical direction to staff and evaluates the level of care provided by the nursing staff on assigned shift.
- Demonstrates awareness of and adherence to safety and legal requirements established at the Hospital and Department of Nursing level with emphasis on those pertinent to his/her shift.
- Holds staff accountable for functioning in a reduced risk manner.
- Effectively performs other duties as assigned.
The hours for the Nurse Supervisor position are 7:00 pm - 7:00 am for 3 to 4 days a week.
Hourly rate plus differential.
Job Requirements
Requirements for House Supervisor
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current California licensure.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent preferred.
- Three years acute clinical ICU experience.Three to five years experience as a staff nurse, including supervisory or charge experience.trong clinical skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate competent care.
- Demonstrates leadership, managerial ability and the application of principles of supervision.
- Good judgment and problem-solving ability.
