Human Resources Director

Principal Accountabilities
Formulates and leads the HR department policies and practices Leads day-to-day activities of a dispersed department and ensures efficient processes Serves as business partner with other functional and operational leads.
Responsibilities May Include Directs the company's Human Resources (HR) policies in areas of responsibility, subject to senior management guidance and approvals. Works closely with corporate HR to modify/shape the corporate HR policies, practices and strategies to meet organizational needs. Provides human resources support to business development efforts including proposal development, staffing levels and skill mix and costing. Conducts employee relations investigations. Advises management personnel on appropriate actions in regards to hiring, discipline, employee development and terminations. Coordinates with Business Area management and the Staffing organization to ensure all programs staffing requirements are met
Knowledge & Skills Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resource and employment laws, regulations and administration. In-depth knowledge of federal laws and regulations as applied to government services programs (ex: Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and Family Medical Leave Act). Knowledge of international HR practices Excellent communication and people skills. Knowledge of various computer programs (i.e., PeopleSoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Management Responsibility Supervises a dispersed HR team of professionals.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment While working at home office, works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
Education
Bachelors degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college. Masters degree is highly desirable. Location Specific Considerations This position will be located in Falls Church, VA. Ability to travel to Virginia or Texas and Middle East locations (some potentially hazardous locations) is required. Estimated 33% travel.
Job Requirements
Required Skills:
Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive Human Resources experience with at least five (5) years in management of a major Human Resources function. Experience working in the Government contacting environment International experience preferred Organizational development and change management experience preferred Overseas travel in austere environments will be required.
