Job Description
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for our Implementation Specialist position. This position will report to our office in Columbia, SC.
This position requires travel within a designated region up to 75% of the time.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide basic implementation support services for the client’s application(s). Includes end-user training (on-site at client locations or in a classroom environment) on the core functionality of the application; consultation on the optimal usage of the application and appropriate business practices, and troubleshooting application errors.
- Provide basic post-implementation supports on the client’s system via phone or dial-up. Includes operational procedures, troubleshooting, routine diagnostics, and error correction with guidance from senior-level analysts.
- Provide basic implementation support services for the electronic data interfaces (EDI) purchased by the client. Includes installation, configuration, end-user training, and troubleshooting of electronic media claims (EMC) submission for the major insurance carriers (Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, or Medicaid) in at least one state or region. Also, includes electronic remittance systems (ERS) and electronic patient statements (EPS).
- Provide basic implementation support services for the client’s hardware (PC’s servers, terminals, printers, and modems) and operating systems (e.g., UNIX, Windows NT). Includes configuration, operational procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Work Experience:
- 2 years experience in a health-oriented or computer oriented customer support, training or implementation environment.
- Experience with multi-user applications and advanced multi-user operating systems.
- 2 years experience using any type of computers or software.
- Previous teaching/tutorial experience within a school system or in a corporate capacity preferred.
Education:
- 2-4 year college degree in information systems, business, computer science or education.
- Certification as an Accredited Record Technician (ART) OR as a Registered Record Administrator (RRA).
Knowledge/Skill:
- Strong instructional, analytical, communication and customer service experience.
- Knowledge of healthcare information systems(e.g. practice management systems, medical records systems, claims processing systems, etc.)
- Must be able to travel (approx. 75%) primarily within a state or region.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to acquire and demonstrate expertise in the core functionality of assigned healthcare information management systems.
- Work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
