Junior Accountant / Level 1 Accountant

Junior Level Accountant needed to prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations and assist with our month-end accounting close process. You will be responsible for GL reconciliation, and account analysis and report to the Accounting Manager of the Accounting / Finance department.

We are Cross Country Home Services, and we provide homeowners throughout the U.S. with home warranty programs.  Homeowners buy our warranty product and call us when a system/appliance failure occurs in their house.  We then dispatch licensed and insured service technicians to repair the problem to our client’s satisfaction.  We are conveniently located in Sunrise, FL near the Sawgrass Mills Mall.

 You will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, and account analysis
• Booking direct expenses related to direct response advertising cost and deferred acquisition cost
• Preparing bank reconciliations for various accounts
• Participating in audits by coordinating requests and preparing schedules
• Distributing monthly financial reports to other departments
• Filing all journal entries and other documents
• Special projects as requested

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 1 â€" 2 years of general accounting experience, including month-end closings

• Strong PC and software skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft products

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Ability to perform many tasks with minimal supervision

• Ability to work with pressure in a fast-paced environment during month-end close
