Job Description
Our client, a hedge fund in Midtown, is looking for a Junior MBS Analyst to join their team.
The person in this role will interact internally with traders and portfolio managers, accounting and other operations groups and externally with trading counterparties, custodians & prime brokers. The Junior Mortgage admin will report to the Manager of MBS Trade Support
In addition, the candidate will be involved in helping in the implementation of a new portfolio management system and reconciling it to a legacy accounting system. Also given the size of the team and the diversity of products and varied responsibilities, the candidate will work in support of other products and fill other roles in providing operational support.
Job Requirements
At least 3-5 years overall experience, with minimum of 3 years experience at a sell side firm and dealing with relevant MBS/ABS products, or
Both buy and sell side experience w/ample exposure and detailed understanding of factored bonds including security characteristics
Knowledge of trade processing and maintaining securities, including use of assumed factors, P&I and adjustable/variable rate bonds
Familiar with Bloomberg, Excel, Trustee remittance reports as well as clearance and settlements of MBS/ABS
Strong reconciliation abilities and excellent communication skills
Experience with Advent Geneva and bank debt a plus
