Job Description
The social worker is responsible for managing the complete care of each patient from admission until after discharge, if necessary, and is also part of an interdisciplinary team whose goal is to provide quality care to patients effectively and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, patients, and other employees of the hospital. Must have the willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning. Must possess the ability and willingness to work professionally with other personnel, patients, family members and guests. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, emotionally upset, varying age population, and, at times, hospital people within the hospital. Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with others.
Job Requirements
Licensure: Valid West Virginia license in Social Work or Counseling (or under supervision)
Education: Bachelor's degree in social services field. MSW preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one year recent clinical experience in social services field providing services to children, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics. Experience or training in sexual offender assessment and treatment is a plus.
