Tacoma Based Line / OTR Driver

Job Overview of Tacoma Based Line / OTR Driver:

• Carlile is currently looking for Line Driver. Must be Doubles certified. Candidate will Drive diesel-powered trucks to transport and deliver products and materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form;
• May also drive tractor with two trailers hitched in tandem (doubles);
• May be required to haul hazardous materials;

• Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations, for example narrow passageways, and in all types of weather conditions (sunny, rain, snow, ice, fog, darkness);
• Inspects truck & trailer for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating their condition;
• The driver will maintain driver’s log and maintenance logs according to state and federal regulations;
• May be required to make customer pickups and deliveries;
• Prepares receipts for load’s picked up;
• Complete OS & D reports;
•  Collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges;
• Spot trailers to warehouse; Assist workers in loading and unloading trailers;
• Operate up to 20,000# forklifts and other yard equipment for loading, unloading, decking trailers;
• May be required to maintain telephone or radio contact with terminals to receive instructions; May be required to perform emergency roadside repairs, for example changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains;
• Ensure that cargo is secured for transport according to the FMCSR’s.

Job Requirements of Tacoma Based Line / OTR Driver: 

Requirements:
 

• Class A CDL with all endorsements, including Hazmat
• 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Must be doubles certified with minimum 1 year pulling Doubles
• Ability to work various shifts and days of the week
• Record of safe and competent driving as demonstrated on driver’s abstract and driving files.
• Experience in snow and ice road conditions.
• Position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and meet regulatory deadlines.
• Impeccable character, integrity, and unfailing initiative in a team environment.
