We are currently seeking a Loan Disbursement Specialist at BrightStar Credit Union!

The primary role of this position is to make a difference in our neighbors financial lives.  This is accomplished by providing the highest quality of service to both internal and external members.  In addition, this position is responsible for posting loans, making proper disbursements of loan proceeds, and assisting other department personnel when needed.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Communicate with branches regarding - Loan Approval/Denial information.                              

·         Provide outstanding service to each internal and external member as defined by our Service Standards and Promises. 

·         Answer phone inquiries regarding loans being held for receipt of sight draft and/or lien information.

·         Quality Control:  Review loan paperwork for documentation and accuracy.  Check maintenance that is entered to set up Consumer and HELOC loans with LOCH by counselors and order HELOC checks.  Prepare report with Quality Control exceptions, maintain Quality Control Spreadsheet and provide report to branch managers and VP of Operations.  Review Loan Data Change Report on a daily basis. 

·         Pay sight drafts and prepare monthly report of sight draft GL account reconciliation and balance properly. 

·         Indirect Lending:  Verify Package contents, open new accounts and setup loans.  Log new loans, leases and balance spread sheets on a monthly basis.  Pay Documentary Stamps on Indirect Loans. 

·         Handle the ordering of supplies and distribute mail for the Lending department.                        

·         Review Share/CD pledged loan report to ensure funds are being held against these loans.      

·         Change rates on CD loans upon maturity of the CD, to coincide with the new rate.

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Experience: Up to six months of similar or related loan experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.  Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.

Other Skills:  Must be able to sit for long periods of time.  Subject to prolonged viewing of a   personal computer or paperwork.
