Job Description
SUMMARY: The Loss Mitigation Specialist is charged with managing a portfolio of residential mortgage loans while proactively seeking to prevent and remedy default situations through an intense focus on risk analysis. The risk managers focus on delinquent or distressed assets requiring high touch service. A key objective is to help investors recognize the most value in their respective investments. The current economic crisis has reached every part of our country and housing sector, thus, there has never been a time that loss mitigation efforts have been more important. Because our business model was created for this high default environment, our specialists are able to provide tailored solutions and a custom approach benefiting both the homeowner and investor.
Training is available with this position which provides the specialist with the opportunity to learn about the residential mortgage industry while developing an analytical skill set that is valuable throughout a career. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Manage all aspects of deal activity on the portfolio to maximize value by reviewing the customer’s financial situation and the company’s investment in each asset
• Initiate modifying terms of the mortgage note, monitor and execute the customer’s approved program
• Negotiate with third parties terms of severity solutions
• Manage communication strategy with borrowers in portfolio
• Manage relationships with multiple investors, vendors, and attorneys
• Ability to present a professional image and demeanor to internal and external customers
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external business partners
Job Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 4 year College degree essential and 2-4 years of work experience OR 5-7 years related work experience. Residential mortgage banking knowledge, MBA or advance degree, experience in negotiations or sales and Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Basic knowledge of PCs and related Microsoft office applications.
