Job Description
OVERVIEW: The Maintenance Mechanic/Technician will demonstrate mechanical problem solving and offer suggestions to improve or change existing maintenance procedures. Assist higher rated mechanics on various job assignments as well as perform all electrical requirements for the facility.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Ability to operate all mobile equipment.
Capable of fabricating parts from drawings and sketches.
Demonstrates ability to read blueprints and assembly drawings in order to identify machine parts and their dimensions.
Recognizes when repairs are required on equipment and brings to supervisor’s attention.
Performs minor electrical duties such as voltage checks, continuity checks, and replacing broken wiring.
Ability to properly set up and adjust expander and press cut-off dies.
Analyze and make precise repairs to precision equipment
Order spare electrical components utilized in the everyday maintenance of plant electrical systems
Assist in training of electricians
Ability to troubleshoot plant printed circuit boards, AC, DC, and Servo drives
Read ladder logic and troubleshoot plant PLC controllers
Proficient in the use of all plant electrical test equipment such as oscilloscope, digital volt-ohm meter, ammeter, tachometer, vibration analyzer, etc.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma required
Experience: Must have proven experience as a mechanic.
Required Skills: Basic analytical skills related to mechanical problem solving. Good training, communication, leadership and communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work all shifts. Ability to read blueprints and assembly drawings.
Working knowledge of all maintenance dept. electrical files, schematics, and control programs for programmable devices
Must meet the requirements of Electrician D
