Major Account Manager

Are you a seasoned professional looking for a challenge? We are looking for a Major Account Manager for one of our newest expansion marketsWestern Twin City Metro Area. We are looking for an experienced and professional Account Manager to help build our large client base in the Chaska, Minnesota area. The Major Account Manager must have experience with business to business sales, be able to train and develop staff, and also must have experience managing multiple business units. At least five years successful management experience required; multi-facility and C-Level reporting experience would be helpful.

Our Major Account Manager will support regional financial and strategic objectives by effectively managing the branch administration, sales, and customer service activities. Excellent growth opportunity: ultimately this person could move into a role that includes the oversight of many large on-site customers.

General Purpose: To support regional financial and strategic objectives by effectively managing the branch operations, sales, and customer service activities in assigned territory.

Essential Functions:

    Business Development
    • Complete and update a consolidated analysis of business potential in assigned territory.
    • Establish consolidated business development and monthly financial goals based on the business analysis.
    • Ensure strategic client plan information sheets are completed on all clients in assigned territory.
    • Identify top 10 accounts in assigned territory and collaborate with branch personnel to develop a strategy for retaining those accounts.
    • Approve list of target accounts for each branch and the marketing plan for selling SOS services to those prospects.

    Sales

    • Monitor activity in assigned branches to ensure sales personnel are completing required number of sales calls needed to achieve branch financial goals.

    • Periodically review territory manuals and strategic client plan information forms to verify they are being appropriately updated.
    • Conduct meetings periodically with all assigned branches to review their marketing strategies and upcoming sales activities for the next quarter.
    • Monitor branch operations to confirm corporate pricing guidelines are being consistently used to quote bill rates.
    • Periodically review sales and gross profit results in assigned branches to determine if they are on track with established goals. Take appropriate steps to resolve branch financial results that are below expectations and gross profit goals.

    Customer Service

    • Schedule visits to active clients within assigned territory to discuss their satisfaction with services provided at the branch level and to explore opportunities for providing additional services.
    • Collaborate with branch personnel to develop action plans to resolve any customer service issues identified during client visits.
    • Follow up on client concerns to verify those concerns have been resolved to the clients satisfaction.
    • Review branch data to confirm job orders are being filled in a timely manner.
    • Review branch records to identify and resolve problems related to accurately matching temporary associate qualifications with client job skill and ability requirements.

    Operations

    • Collaborate with region staff to ensure branches in assigned territory are in compliance with company policies and applicable government regulations.

    • Monitor expenses in assigned branches.
    • Collaborate with branch personnel to correct situations in which expenses are out of line with the revenue and gross profit generated.
    • Implement procedures within assigned branches, such as site visits and safety orientations, to reduce temporary associate injuries on jobsites.
    • Review job order data in SOAR to confirm branches are using appropriate SIF codes in accordance with Risk Management guidelines.
    • Provide regional vice president with reports periodically showing the status of branch operations in relation to budgets as well as business development and financial goals.
    Human Resource Management
    • Establish performance standards and goals for direct reports in a timely manner.

    • Collaborate with regional and home office personnel to ensure new hires and existing staff members are adequately trained on procedures for performing the key functions of their job.
    • Collaborate with regional staff and Human Resources to establish career growth and personnel development goals for direct reports.
    • Monitor overall performance of direct reports and recommend merit increases, promotions or disciplinary actions as is appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent years of experience and training.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in a management capacity.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, negotiating and decision-making skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate with associates at all levels and with outside contacts.
  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of government EEO and Wage & Hour regulations related to hiring and placing temporary employees on assignments.
  • Able to read and analyze various financial reports related to branch operations.
  • Able to work a standard schedule as defined and extended hours as needed.
