Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY: Manages, organizes and controls all system planning and development functions in support of CCF and ITD strategic and tactical goals in relation to the eCleveland Clinic product line. Directs the activities of personnel in business analysis, system design and implementation, and application maintenance and support. Coordinates department activities with other ITD departments and interfaces with CCF user departments. Directly influences the success of new programs and strategic plans at CCF as they relate to information processing, access and utilization. Acts as a Program Manager across multiple interrelated projects across the eCleveland Clinic product set. Acts as a consultant to CCF divisions, and internal/external customers to determine information needs and strategies.
Services provided include: business planning, needs/requirements assessment, vendor and package selection, project planning, systems analysis, code development, testing, application maintenance and support, liaison support (information access, expediting problem resolution). Supports information requirements of multiple Divisions and/or multiple CCHS entities. Supervises staff of 10-25. May have management responsibility for personnel in other divisions who are matrixes into ITD.
Job Requirements
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor's degree and Demonstrates a broad knowledge of modern information systems, development languages, and data communications technologies. Specific technology background required for Lawson Financials and Procurement suite of applications within a healthcare or clinical setting (e.g., 4GL COBOL, Intel Servers, Web-based skills such as JavaScript, XML, HTML, HP-UX Unix environment, and top-level database technologies such as Microsoft SQL or Oracle). Has proven experience in application of project management and system development methodologies. Demonstrates a broad knowledge of business/scientific functions and related systems interfaces that can assist CCF management in the operation and administration of divisions. Knowledge of healthcare operations is desirable. Demonstrates the ability to understand and deal analytically with both internal problems (e.g., scope, schedules, determination of benefits, deadlines) and the CCF opportunities that arise during the coordination of multi-disciplinary projects. Management skills must include strong written and verbal communication, negotiating, business presentation, and organizational skills. Demonstrates ability to interrelate to all levels of the user community.
Required Length and Type of Experience Ten years' demonstrated experience in information system development and advanced management practices in a large data processing environment, with a minimum of five years' management experience. Additional experience may offset the bachelor degree requirement. Experience must also include implementing and supporting a major system in a clinical or system analyst capacity. An advanced degree may offset years of experience. Epic experience preferred. Healthcare experience is highly preferred.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands This position requires frequent sitting and use of telephone and personal computer. Frequent talking and listening when giving instructions and explanations is required. The position must be available after hours for support by pager and computer dial-in.
