Job Description

As Teach For America grows and scales and changes over time, the Human Assets Organizational Effectiveness team facilitates our ability to build an enduring American institution by creating supports to guarantee that our organizational culture stays strong, making certain that our organization is well managed, and enhancing individual development and career satisfaction for staff. Within the Organizational Effectiveness team, the Learning & Development arm primarily focuses helping staff members acclimate, learn, and grow in their roles and throughout their careers such that they maximize their collective impact on our organization's mission.
 
The manager, data, technology and operations will be responsible for building out the data and technology infrastructure for the rapidly growing Learning & Development group and will manage key elements of operations as we seek to deliver new content out to the largest possible audience of staff members.  The manager will report to the senior managing director, learning & development and will work closely with other members of the Learning & Development group who focus on the design and delivery of content.  As the team expands its work, the role offers significant professional development for someone looking to round out analytical or operational experience with significant exposure to technology systems and large-scale project management.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing the technology and data infrastructure for the Learning and Development group to ensure we lay a foundation for significant growth in the next three years, including:
    • Building and institutionalizing scalable tools and systems such as a tracking system to understand who is accessing Learning & Development content and a process for tracking when content must be updated
    • Partnering with the Senior Managing Director, Learning and Development and the IT team to select a Learning Management System and pilot its use
  • Analyzing data and developing recommendations to ensure that we flawlessly execute and continuously improve the operations of the Learning and Development group, including:
    • Developing, distributing and analyzing of Learning & Development surveys
    • Monitoring existing programs closely by analyzing survey results and qualitative feedback to identify opportunities for improvements to the content or logistics
    • Gathering information about conference and training results from teams across Teach For America in order to identify best practices and set internal benchmarks for success
  • Managing key elements of operations related to the delivery of new Learning and Developing content to ensure that it reaches the applicable audience within the expected timeframe, including:
    • Coordinating opportunities to deliver content at existing team conferences and trainings
    • Managing the roll-out of eLearning sessions
    • Hiring and managing project-based temporary staff and/or interns to support administrative functions and major events (such as New Hire Orientation)
  • Managing special projects as they arise

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience:
  • Analyzing, summarizing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information
  • Developing recommendations based on analysis
  • Creating operational systems and managing large-scale and detail-driven projects
  • Managing and implementing databases and technology systems
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently and independently
  • Interacting with confidential information discreetly, ethically, and prudently

Technical Skills
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Ability to learn new software applications quickly required

Experience
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of two years of professional work experience required
  • Work experience in analytical or operational roles strongly preferred
