Regular/Temporary: Regular Essential Job Functions
Responsible for Buyer assignments, evaluating work performance, and any other Buyer tasks. Reviews purchase orders to ensure contracting compliance, pricing efficacy, and adherence to departmental policies and procedures. Ensures that client service levels are maintained as it relates to processing of requests and responsiveness to end users. Reviews with buyers the timeliness of requisition processing, and report findings as required. Assists the buyers in terms of ensuring best overall value in terms of product and vendor selection. Provides direct onsite support to department managers/directors as it relates to departmental requisitioning, electronic ordering, contracts changes, and implementation. Meets regularly with departmental managers/directors as it relates to customer service support in terms of operations improvement. Reports findings as required. Troubleshoots and expedites emergency requests for any department when required. Reviews Broadlane contracts, and provides contract information to staff and end users when necessary. Oversees product conversions and ensures that information is provided to the appropriate client staff. Participates at Product Focus Meetings as it relates to product standardization issues, and product conversions. Initiates competitive bid procedures for on Continuum Custom, and other local agreements including capital goods based on clients policy and procedures. Utilizes value analysis techniques relating to product selection and product standardization. Communicates effectively with Materials Management on any matters relating to product changes and distribution issues. Responds to and coordinates with Accounts Payable where applicable to resolve payment and/or credit issues. Evaluates vendor performance based on contracting issues including service delivery, and credit management.

Ability to prioritize workload assignments and perform duties independently.
Required Experience and Education
4 year college or equivalent work experience in a Purchasing Department with a minimum of 2 year supervisory experience. Computer literate Experience using electronic purchasing system
