MANAGER STRATEGIC ALLIANCES Mission to Market
The Manager, Strategic Alliances develops and manages plans to support achievement of M2M goals established with external partner organizations. The manager identifies potential partners by researching and vetting them, and aligning with partners' strengths to support M2M's financial and in-kind needs that support the GSLE for girls and councils. S/he supervises certain grant administration functions supporting Mission to Market programs and initiatives. The Project Coordinator for Girl Scouts Beyond Bars (GSBB) and the Stem Program reports directly to this manager.
The manager builds relationships with service organizations and professional societies that can provide financial or in-kind support to support membership, programmatic, global or council requirements tied specifically to implementation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). As new funding opportunities occur, this position will explore the relationship, define all aspects of the potential benefits, collaborate with the appropriate departments across GSUSA and councils and manage the relationship through to a successful engagement.
The manager will create selection criteria and a process to assess the feasibility of the potential benefit to the funder or partner. S/he collaborates with key GSUSA stakeholders to maximize the benefit of each partner and obtain consensus on their specific roles within each partner agreement.
The incumbent works closely with M2M leaders to determine requirements for M2M funding focusing on girls' programs, advancement of membership, growth of councils and global girl participation. The manager defines the scope, actual work and responsibilities of each department. S/he conducts needs analysis, sets priorities and monitors the progress of initiatives in the pipeline. S/he ensures the terms and provisions in alliances are sufficiently supported to effectively deliver the intended objectives.
Job Requirements
' Minimum 7 years experience in a significant project management role within a youth-serving organization, philanthropy or cause marketing experience in a non-profit organization desirable. ' Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience supervising and coaching staff, developing and managing a budget, and leading cross-functional work teams preferred. ' Proven grant experience with an emphasis on providing direction on the grants administration process. ' Demonstrated written/verbal communication skills, proven expertise presenting information with clarity to diverse internal/external audiences, and preparing clear and concise reports, case statements, prospect and cultivation communications and information to councils. ' Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with potential funders and project partners. ' Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously with changing priorities and tight deadlines. ' Demonstrated experience working in a highly collaborative environment. ' Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint ' Proven experience in working in a fast-paced and fluid environment. ' Proven experience participating in cross-functional work teams as either a project leader or project team member. ' Demonstrated platform and meeting facilitation skills ' Travel up to 20% required, involving day trips, overnight travel or weekends when required. ' Valid driver's license to drive to various geographic locations ' Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business administration or related area, or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
