Commissioning Engineer

SENIOR ENGINEER
My client is a leading commissioning, energy engineering, sustainable design and facility management firm based in San Francisco, with offices in Irvine, Sacramento, Seattle and Phoenix.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated senior engineer for a full-time position. This candidate must have a solid background in HVAC engineering, DDC controls and energy efficiency strategies for large commercial buildings.
Responsibilities:
•
Perform commissioning of new buildings and retro-commissioning of existing buildings, energy assessments and writing technical reports for commercial facilities
•
Write commissioning plans and field reports for new construction projects and perform hands-on testing of HVAC and control systems in existing buildings
•
Assist with LEED assessments for a variety of buildings
•
Write technical reports and administration of project responsibilities
Education and Qualifications:
•

Job Requirements

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering
•
California Professional Engineering license (P.E.) preferred
•
Five or more years experience in the energy efficiency or HVAC industry
Skills:
•
Ability to successfully meet completion of projects on time and within budget
•
Ability to provide ongoing quality assurance
•
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
•
The capability to fully author clear and concise technical reports
•
Motivation and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•
A background in energy efficiency and/or HVAC industries (design and construction) is required
Experience:
•
Experience with field assessments and troubleshooting of HVAC systems for large commercial buildings including central CHW and HW plants and built up air handlers
•
Ability to read and understand architectural and MEP drawings and specifications
•
Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and Direct Digital Control (DDC)
•
Relevant technical hands on experience in building systems commissioning, retro-commissioning, design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems
•
HVAC design experience
•
Construction administration/management of HVAC and electrical projects

Familiarity with computer modeling of building energy performance using DOE-2, Energy Pro, eQuest, Trane Trace
