Title: Mechanical Engineering Location: San Diego, CA Duration: 6 months Pay Rate: $60 per hour Shift: 1st shift Workweek: 9/80
Job Description:
1. Position involves the development of mechanical components and systems for high reliability environments.
2. Designs will vary from electronic rack components, brackets, and packaging to larger system level designs. Responsibilities will include basic component research, modeling, drafting, and Bill of Material (BOM) generation.
3. This hands on position will require involvement from conceptual design through system integration.
4. A minimum of 4 years of Solid Modeling with Pro/Engineer, plus working knowledge of Pro/INTRALINK, and 4 years of sheet-metal and machine part design.
Job Requirements:
1. Must be capable of generating and reviewing engineering designs to MIL-DLT-31000, ASME Y14.100 and have a full understanding of the dimensioning and tolerancing of ASME Y14.5.
2. Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a scientific/engineering team environment.
3. Must possess effective oral and written communication skills in order to communicate well and interact successfully with all levels of the organization.
4. Must be able to manage conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
5. Possess technical flexibility and willingness to learn.
6. Some travel may be required.
7. Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
8. Position requires a BSME plus a minimum of 2 years' related professional experience.
9. Ability to use a standard desktop (PC) computer and Windows-based tools to produce original documents including drawings, plans, procedures and reports.
10. The individual's familiarity with commercial and special electrical, electronic cables and connectors, and computer test equipment enables performance of technical activities.
11. This position requires physical ability to maneuver around equipment in test labs and on ships and aircraft; verbal acuity to clearly communicate with personnel; and manual dexterity sufficient to use keyboards and control panels.
