Kelly Services in Sherman, Texas is seeking candidates with 1-3 years healthcare billing and team lead experience for a temporary-to-hire opportunity. A Monday-Friday work week in a casual dress code environment. Overtime is required from 800am to 12 Noon on Saturdays. A Medical Billing Team Leader is responsible for the accurate and timely booking of new accounts and charge orders within the billing system. Provide insurance verification support for locations assigned. Provide support, guidance and leadership to Billing team members. Duties and Responsibilities: - Train new and existing personnel while providing leadership for all employees to increase department efficiency and overall company profitability.
- Perform quality control on new accounts and charge orders per company policies and procedures.
- Obtain daily coversheets, logs or paperwork for accounts to be worked or entered into billing systems.
- Review all critical data fields for completeness and accuracy. Compare to submitted paperwork. Correct data fields and take appropriate action to seek correct information as needed.
- Perform insurance verification for locations assigned.
- Complete the data entry of customer accounts and orders into billing systems.
- Maintain all appropriate logs.
- Communicate and assist field offices with insurance verification and billing issues they encounter on a daily basis.
- Work aging report weekly.
- Review assigned payer sites for medical policy changes, manual updates and provider bulletins.
- Review and verify all insurance add requests within 24 hours of receipt to insure accurate insurance information is entered.
- Communicate process or payer requirements/changes to field office personnel for ongoing training purposes. Communicate errors and necessary corrections to center personnel in a style that promotes continuing education.
- Assist management in maintaining reports to track department productivity, payer/product results and monthly claim resubmissions.
- Special projects as assigned by management.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS codes and HIPAA laws.
- Prepare adjustments for A/R for approval and processing.
Qualifications: - High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years experience in billing for self-pay, private insurance and federal government programs required.
- DME experience preferred.
- Proven success leading a team.
- Above average interpersonal communication skills required. Must have the ability to work well with center personnel and associates.
- Ability to write professional correspondence via letters or email.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Highly developed attention to detail and organizational skills critical.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to cross-train to other functions as necessary.
- Working knowledge of business and communications software (Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and other related programs) and general business equipment (facsimile, copier, printers, etc.).
