Job Description
Job Summary: Provide staff with an efficient system for maintaining, filing, locating, logging, retrieving and delivering patient medical records. Essential Duties: - Demonstrates ability to pull charts based on established standards.
- Identify different report types. Identify and place in order under chart divider.
- Sort and deliver patient charts to appropriate locations. Pick-up charts upon request. Re-file returned charts.
- Demonstrates knowledge of use and maintenance of technical equipment.
- Answer medical records telephone and respond accordingly.
- Prepare new patient charts. Repair damaged charts.
- Understand archive chart process and procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of filing and P & P.
- Demonstrates basic understanding of ROI guidelines.
Job Requirements
Education: - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of program in Medical record technology preferred.
- Courses in medical terminology and basic computer applications preferred.
Experience: - Will substitute verifiable on the job training and experience for education requirements.
