Financial Services Technology and Operations Database Technology is looking for a motivated and talented individual to join the team. The candidate will be responsible for oversight of day-to-day activities in support of Database Technology applications. The candidate will also participate in the management and delivery of Database services to various business lines within the enterprise. The candidate must be capable of performing the following functions: - Manage people, budgets, expenses, processes and tools to align and calibrate the organization's technology deployment strategy with its business strategy
- Direct the development, implementation and support of technologies to support business objectives
- Participate in Database technology planning, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems as related to the company's competitive position
- Interact with customers to provide strategic partnership, share technology vision, recommend solutions that are aligned with business/IT strategies and complies with corporate architect standards
- Ensure continuous customer satisfaction
- Ensure that rigorous system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management best practices are followed
- Support and champion a culture of compliance, ensuring that compliance with internal Sarbanesâ€'Oxley (SOX) and other processes related to regulatory or compliance requirements takes place and change control and problem management procedures are followed
- Provides mentoring and training to more junior staff.
- Day to day supervisor oversight of team of database Administrators
- Day to day management of Database Technologies including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata, Sybase and Adabas. Manage the reponse to audit, security and regulatory demands around the Database environments.
- Manage relationships with finance management team
- Manage relationships with software vendors
- Develop, manage and execute project plans delivering high-quality solutions on schedule and within budget
- Serve as point of escalation for complex issues

Job Requirements
- Bachelor or Masters in Computer, Science, Computer Engineering, or related experience with 10+ yrs of experience Typically experienced across multiple Information Technology areas interfacing with Database
- Experienced in resource and team management
- Experienced with accounting concepts and financial applications
- Self starter with strong work ethic
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical / problem solving skills
- PeopleSoft, OBIEE, Eagle, Longview and support for Financial and Trading systems
