Job Description

Records mortgage income entries; analyzes warehouse line and escrow activity and make entries to record activity;  reviews individual loan activity in the 2323 loan receivable account and corrects as necessary.  Reconciles balance sheet accounts for Mortgage Corporation.

• Record Mortgage Corporation warehouse lines of credit activity and work with Mortgage Corporation staff to correct when errors in the credit line occur.  Prepare income sheet adjustments for warehouse loan activity. 

• Records all income entries for SWBC Mortgage using download of information from the Mtg Corp tracking software.  Determines general ledger account number for items designated as other.  Check income reasonableness by calculating income as a percentage of loan value; work with Mortgage Corp. personnel to resolve any questionable income entries. 

• Analyzes loan activity to determine if escrow funds are being held.  Request transfer of funds into segregated account weekly. 

• Monitors Mortgage Corp. aged accounts receivable balances. Works with the Mortgage Corporation staff and CFO to write-off journal entry of aged account net receivables. 

• Prepare expense allocation entries for monthly Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac invoices.    

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related.
• Must have at least three (3) years of accounting reconciliation, journal entry preparation, or related experience.
• Must possess knowledge of accounting principles and mortgage lending accounting.   
• Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience on IBM AS/400 and knowledge of PC Information Systems preferred. 
• Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. of boxes containing accounting documentation.
