Position Description:
Candidates for this position must have at least 2 years prior experience within a Tax Exempt Fixed Income Product. A compelling interest in the financial markets and excellent credit and analytical skills are required. The candidate is expected to collaborate with the businesses - Sales, Trading, Strategy and Municipal Finance. This fast-paced and intense environment requires an aptitude for analyzing and interpreting complex information from multiple sources in a timely manner.

Duties include:

  • Managing a book of odd-lot inventory consisting of several hundred positions
  • Providing liquidity and appropriate markets to the MSSB retail sales force
  • Partner with the municipal desk's sales team to market positions and ideas related to trade opportunities
  • Interact and respond to Financial Advisor community in order to facilitate business
  • Must be able to respond to directives as it relates to inventory and pricing of product

  • Outstanding attention to detail, highly organized, and extremely proactive
  • Must be a service oriented, team-player eager to assist colleagues and members of the department at all levels
  • Self-motivated, innovative, hard working individual, who can handle changing priorities and multiple tasks in a timely fashion
  • Technology friendly with the ability to understand and enhance existing systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Diligent and meticulous individual with the ability to “think outside the box”
  • Must be service oriented and a team player with the ability to work outside ones comfort zone
  • Strong time management/prioritization skills and solid judgment
  • Series 7 and 63
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg, and familiarity with the ratings agencies
