What is a National Examiner?

Launched in April 2008, Examiner.com is the insider source for everything local.

A National Examiner’s posts will appear to a nationwide audience that includes our current 70 markets and will soon exceed over 100 major cities nationwide.  Examiner.com will provide you with the platform you need to build your national presence.  Imagine, millions of people waiting on the edge of their seat for what you have to say next!   

A National Examiner is a freelancer who is looking for a large audience and enjoys informing others about subjects they love.  Our National Examiners represent a diverse set of magazine writers, online writers, housewives, TV personalities, PhDs, college students and more. Most National Examiners have full-time or part-time jobs, or are full-or-part time students. 

Using the Examiner library of templates to post, a National Examiner will be expected to link to, comment on and /or write recaps, event previews, news and major events specific to their topic.  Ideally, Examiners are expected post frequently enough to keep their page current and up to date.

One of the best parts about being a National Examiner is where and how you contribute.  You can write from your home office, an internet café or just about anywhere else with an internet connection. Examiners are paid a very competitive rate that is based on standard Internet variables including page views, unique visitors, session length and advertising performance. This is not a full-time “quit your day-job" kind of opportunity, but Examiners can definitely earn money while doing something they are passionate about.
