Job Description
Responsible for: * Installation and support of hardware, software, and data networks. * Hardware support includes barcode scanners, servers, and desktop PCs. * Software support includes PC and server applications and operating systems. * The network consists of elements such as fiber optic cabling, Ethernet hubs and switches, routers, terminal servers, firewalls, etc. RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide high quality customer service to staff and clients of networked computers. - Setup, configure and track desktop computers - Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity problems - Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all Software packages - Install new hardware and software and assist with network upgrades - Orient staff in the use of computer and telephone equipment - Network administration duties including, but are not limited to, performing server backups, maintenance of user & e-mail accounts and providing general server maintenance and upgrades - Assist in maintaining various agency telephone and voice-mail systems - Provide timely information regarding program procedures to program staff QUALIFICATIONS - Minimum 3 years expewrience - Working knowledge of Windows 2000/XP operating systems and protocols required - Experience setting up and administering small (3-10PC) networks required - Knowledge of installing and configuring print servers, routers, WAP s, VPN s as well as various brands - Knowledge of MS Exchange, SQL, and Active Directory a plus - Proficiency with various versions of Lotus Notes, Word and Excel highly desirable - Knowledge of JDE, AS400, DSL, Cable, T1, 802.11x and other Wireless technologies a plush, effective service delivery
