Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA.
**This position includes up to 25% travel to domestic customer sites.
Job Responsibilities: The Network Engineer will work within the Core structure of our global delivery model to primarily support Cisco based video solutions and also assist senior design engineers in the implementation of both WAN and LAN networks that impacts the CORE network. The Network Engineer performs complex technical analysis of software, hardware, and network systems, systems integration for front-end processors, LAN/WAN communications, network routers, LAN switches, and various transmission systems. This person works with the Sr. Network Engineer and implements networked systems, including configurations, supporting/troubleshooting network problems and coordinating with vendors for configuration validation and installation of such items as routers, firewalls, VPN concentrators and switches. The Network Engineer conducts network capacity planning analysis, prepares reports, and works on project implementation. They may serve as technical liaison with vendors. The Network Engineer will be a direct report to the Network manager.
Required Skills:
Must have 6-8 year of experience in an enterprise networking environment Must have prior experience implementing and/or supporting Cisco Video Communication product Ability to demonstrate fundamental technical understanding of communications networks, such as protocols, network components, design elements and architecture Must demonstrate intermediate knowledge of platform operating systems (router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols) and how they interact with the network Must possess fundamental network troubleshooting skills necessary to perform operational and support functions Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral Must have excellent customer service skills including the ability to interface well with customers, end users, partners and associates
Desired Skills: Appropriate Certification related to Cisco Video Application Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to Change Management processes Completion of ITIL awareness training, Change management, incident management, service management, and service delivery, SLA’s Project Management skills and understanding of deliverables and meeting project deadlines and milestones
Minimum Educational Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (at least 6-8 years experience)
