Our Engineering department is currently seeking Network Engineer II to provide engineering, design, implementation and maintenance tasks on the LAN and/or WAN. This position will assist with the on-going assessment and upgrade of networks with the support of a higher level Engineer.

The responsibilities for the Network Engineer II are:

  • 2nd Shift Hours of operation - 3pm to Midnight - Monday thru Friday - 10% Shift differential for working on 2nd shift
  • Narrow in scope, typically isolated incidents that affect a single customer and need additional investigation by a customer account team.
  • Serves as a troubleshooter on basic network problems.
  • Handles the majority of customer related tickets.
  • May develop relationships with vendors and investigate sources of equipment and services.
  • Maintains close contact with existing vendors of equipment and services.
  • May evaluation vendor cost and quality of equipment and services.
  • Coordinates with vendors on the installation of hardware such as routers, bridges and switches.
  • Remains informed of new developments and trends; may make recommendations to management on desirable additions and developments.


Job Requirements

The most competitive candidate will have the following:

  • Good Network fundamentals of routing and switching
  • Firewall and Load Balancing experience
  • Understanding of subnetting and CIDR block addressing
  • 2+ years experience in a technically related field
  • CCNP preferred, or equivalent level of experience.
  • Basic knowledge of network operations.
  • Basic knowledge of Cisco hardware and IOS.
  • Advanced or expert knowledge of OSPF or BGP.
