Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
Status Full-time, mid-August through mid-June annually.
Department Counseling, Health, and Wellness Services
Essential Duties
• Within scope of practice, provides primary medical care to students, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of general medical problems. • Provides patient education. • Collaborates with other Counseling, Health, and Wellness Services members. • Provides medical care to students at a remote site for three-day new student orientation program annually. • Consults with staff, faculty and parents about health and medical issues of students. • Contributes to the development and maintenance of health and wellness programs and outreach to the campus community. • Manages clinic OSHA, WISHA and CLIA policies and procedures. • Provides yearly health staff training on blood borne pathogens, universal precautions and infectious waste. • Manages the annual chart review for providers. • Participates in Division of Student Affairs and other university meetings, projects, committees and educational training/workshops. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) and national board certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), Family or Adult Practice. • Licensed to practice in the state of Washington and DEA license. • Two or more years of experience in primary care, including patience education. Experience in a college setting preferred. • Experience developing and implementing a variety of programs and outreach services that are preventative and relate to a holistic model of wellness education is preferred. • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to exercise independent judgment and action; understanding of and appreciation for student affairs; and commitment to liberal arts education and equal opportunity/affirmative action.

Compensation
• The hiring range is $4,183 - $5,411 per month. Decisions about starting salaries will be based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations. • This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. • Generous benefits package includes medical insurance, dental insurance, education benefits, and non-contributory retirement plan.
