Job Description

Texas Operations Health Services Department, a part of Environment, Health and Safety, is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to join our team in providing top quality occupational health nursing services at our manufacturing facility in La Porte, TX, and supporting other Dow locations in the Houston, TX area.  

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Strong interest in health education and counseling, including preventive health services, health promotion and disease prevention strategies, using primary, secondary and tertiary prevention principles.
  • Provide occupational health nursing services for Dow employees and visitors.
  • Contribute to the expertise of Health Services.
  • Provide clinical care, nursing assessments and interventions with a focus promoting and restoring health, preventing injury and illnesses and protecting workers from occupational and environmental hazards, following Dow Clinical Guidelines.
  • Provide case management services for work related cases and identified personal cases.
  • Provide health assessment services and develop site specific Health Assessment program for assigned employee groups, using the Occupational Health Management Standard. 
  • Provide direct communication and medical consultation to manufacturing and function leaders representing assigned work areas. Provide travel health counseling and services for Dow business travelers.
  • Provide clinical and other testing according to established standards and procedures.
  • Participate in or lead a variety of projects and teams.
  • Provide leadership and/or technical support for regional and site health promotion coordination and implementation.

 


Job Requirements

  • Minimum certification as registered nurse, Bachelors degree preferred
  • Minimum certification as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas is required
  • Strong clinical skills and a license to practice in the state of Texas are required
  • Occupational Health Nursing Experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in occupational medicine environment is preferred
