Job Description
HealthSouth is searching for Occupational Therapists to provide occupational therapy treatment and patient care according to hospital, state, professional and federal regulations and guidelines.
The Occupational Therapist creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment.
The position will include (but is not limited to) the evaluation and treatment of patients with the following:
- Arthritis
- Burns
- Congenital anomalies
- Dupuytren's contractures
- Flexor and extensor tendon repairs
- Fractures/dislocations
- Nerve involvement/repairs
- Reflex sympathetic dystrophy
- Sports injuries
- Tendon transfers
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- DeQuervain's syndrome
- Epicondylitis
- Raynaud's syndrome
- Trigger finger
- Tendinitis/Tenosynovitis
- Ganglion cystic tumor
Job Requirements
- Requires effective communication skills for working with patients, families, caregivers, and departmental and interdepartmental relationships.
- Requires competency in occupational therapy evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment.
- Requires task delegation and supervision of occupational therapist assistants and technicians.
- Maintains open and on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met.
Education, Training, Experience and License/Certification Requirements
- Must have current state license or certification; in states where licensing is not required, defer to state practice act.
- CPR certification preferred unless otherwise required by hospital policy.
- Successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited therapy program, Master’s degree is preferred
