 Due to the immediate construction of a new facility, we require a Technical Support Specialist with experience in supporting Corporate IT infrastructure systems and services. The Technical Support Specialist is the primary point of contact for technology related questions and problems for entire company and staff and reporting directly to the IT Manager.

WHAT DOES THIS JOB ENTAIL?

• Provide first level support on Workstations & Server hardware, network and software
• Ensure timely research, escalation and resolution of end user technical problems and requirements
• Maintain existing documentation and ensure that all support information is recorded and tracked in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure corporate data security including backup and recovery and perform periodic testing and verification for in-place Disaster Recovery Plans 
• Participate in IT projects to provide technical input required to deliver end user requirements
• Ensure availability of services as well as managing upgrades, patches, virus protection, network access, email accounts and Active Directory account management.
• Assist in the implementation of new infrastructure projects by providing technical expertise and support to IT team members.
• Provide technical coaching and training to end users
• Maintain good working relationships with third-party vendors and manage vendor access to on-site equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?

• A minimum of three years experience supporting corporate IT infrastructure systems and services

• Must have experience in a manufacturing environment – any metal manufacturing experience preferred

• A computer science or related Bachelors degree preferred but will consider an Associates with a minimum of 3 years experienc
• Working knowledge of MS SQL 2005, MS Exchange 2007, BES, WSUS, Terminal Service
• Experience with administering Windows 2003 / 2008 Active Directory
• Experience with SAN technology is an asset
• Must have SAP experience
• Experience with Network Technologies & Protocols such as TCP/IP, IPSEC, DNS, DHCP, wireless, cabling and VPN
• Knowledge of Enterprise Anti-Virus and Backup software
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
• Highly organized with strong follow-up skills
• On-call availability to support corporate business systems
• Able to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of PLC and manufacturing systems is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both orally & in writing) technical information to technical & non-technical personnel
• Technical certifications MCSA & MCSE are great asset
