Part-time Electrical Technician Instructor
Would you enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience of your skills as an electrician with our dedicated students? Kaplan College - Midland Campus has an opportunity for you as a Part-time Electrical Technician Instructor. You will prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and work habits required for entry-level positions.
What you will do:
Present enthusiastic, well prepared, organized, and clear lessons consistent with the course syllabus.
Assist students in their quest for a career.
Provide the student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects.
Provide students with a complete syllabus containing course objectives on the first day of class.
Participate in in-service seminars and professional development training on an ongoing basis.
Support student retention through contacting absent students, providing tutoring, and recognizing student achievements through honors and awards.
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5 years of recent, hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and/or industrial wiring within the last ten years
Appropriate certification and/or license
High school diploma
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Computer literate, versed in MS Word and PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred in addition to above:
Experience teaching or training
Experience supervising
Associate’s degree or higher in related field
HOURS: Work hours would typically be M-TH from 5:30 PM - 10:30 PM
