Job Description
Job Summary: Provide effective and efficient front office services to patients; coordinate internal and external phone communications among staff, patients and providers; accurately collect records and ensure distribution to appropriate staff via computer and/or manual systems; perform clerical, scheduling and records activities in support of patients and staff. Essential Duties: - Greet and check-in patients in person and on the phone, direct flow of patients and calls according to policy. Route messages as needed to appropriate departments.
- Collect and verify demographic and insurance information from patient or family member. Enter data into the information system and update patient files, according to policy.
- Ensure required authorizations are present on all patient documents.
- Provide information to patients regarding financial policies, registration requirements, etc.
- Collect appropriate co pays or monies due and maintain one writes.
- Ensure that patient waiting areas are clean, well maintained and pleasant.
- Ensure that patient needs are met to include transportation as necessary, interpreters, scheduling of appointments and the like.
Job Requirements
Education: - High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: - At least 6 months customer service experience working with the public.
- Face to face public interaction preferred.
