POSITION SUMMARY: Experienced individual will be trained to drive and/or operate pavement marking equipment. Must possess the experience and skills listed below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Lift, carry, load and unload construction items including pavement marking supplies, signs, etc. 2. Prepare, clean and sweep work area. 3. Operates and maintains thermoplastic striping equipment for the application of striping on roadways. 4. Operates a Striper Truck at low speeds while roadways are receiving paint striping/thermoplastic striping applications. 5. Lay and install heat tape. Apply and remove temporary and permanent reflective tape. 6. Set up and remove construction signs and traffic control items at job site. 7. Operates and maintains equipment, both hand operated and motorized designed to remove pavement markings from roadway surfaces.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job site. 2. Clean grinders and paint machines. 3. Install, remove and reset delineators, signs, posts and supports. 4. Shop work which may include general maintenance and repair of equipment. 5. Travel from work site to work site (involves considerable overnight travel). 6. Will have to perform mechanical repairs on the equipment. 7. Perform other work related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: � Must be 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma (or equivalent). � A valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and a good driving record is required. � HAZMET certification is required. � Mechanical aptitude and experience to include equipment, vehicle, and diesel mechanics. � Basic reading/writing ability to comply with road signs, complete paperwork and knowledge of federal motor carrier safety regulations is also required. � Candidates must possess good knowledge of state and local roadways and have experience with operating delivery vehicles of varying sizes. � Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds and knowledge of safety procedures for securing and transporting cargo is essential. � Must be flexible and be willing and able to work out of town and travel overnight (approx. 50%). Must also be able to work nights. � Ability to work in all weather environments. Work is performed primarily in an outdoor environment.
