Pharmacist - Hospital

Job Summary:
 
Clinical Pharmacy Generalists have operational and clinical responsibilities for patients in their assigned areas and they are based in a patient care unit. This position is a full time float position, 80% of the schedule will be day time shifts and 20% of the remaining scheduled shifts will be for overnight and weekend shifts. 

Job Requirements

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

·         B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree required.

·         ASHP accredited Residency preferred.

·         Previous hospital pharmacy experience required.

Licensure/Certification:

·         Texas Pharmacy license required.

·         Board certification in a pharmacy specialty area preferred.

Key Job Duties/ Responsibilities:

·         Review and enter orders for their patients

·         Involved with providing drug information

·         Serve on hospital committees related to their practice area

·         Assist with patient safety and quality improvement initiatives

·         Monitor home and discharge medications

·         Counsel their patients.

·         Act as preceptors for pharmacy students and residents

·         Engage in research and scholarly activities

·         Participate in professional society and community outreach activities.
