Just In Time Staffing is looking for Pharmacists!

Just In Time Staffing is looking for full-time Pharmacists to work at Wilford Hall Medical Center, located at Lackland Airforce Base in San Antonio, TX.  Position is 40 hours per week and can include rotating weekend shifts.

Pharmacist duties can include but are not limited to:

-Check prescriptions for patient eligibility, drug availability, usage, dosage, mode, and rate of administration, completeness of directions and possible incompatibilities noted from referencing the patients' medication profile.  Suggest alternative medications as appropriate.

-Fill prescriptions, including controlled drug prescriptions, by selecting the correct drug and dosage form, reducing the drug from bulk to the quantitiy prescribed, compounding when necessary, and packaging the drug from bulk to the quantity prescribed, compounding when necessary, and packaging the drug in the appropriate container and affixing proper patient and auxiliary labels.  Shall work with independent pharmacy technicians and review their work to ensure accuracy.

-Perform quality assurance on prescription refills.  Assure that all drugs dispensed are properly labeled and packaged, and that directions for use and cautions are complete before the drug is dispensed to the patient.  Perform dispensing, compounding, supply ordering and interpretation.

-Ensure pharmacy supplies are properly maintained and available to accomplish work tasks.

Authenticate all established records as required by the Pharmacy OIs, document work units, document medication errors and maintain prescription files to include controlled drugs and investigational drugs.

-Participate in the development, modification and monitoring of the drug therapy plans.  Coordinate changes in the plan with the patient and patient's other healthcare providers as necessary and appropriate in order to maintain or enhance the safety and/or effectiveness of drug therapy and to help minimize overall healthcare costs.

Job Requirements

All Pharmacists MUST have the following:

-Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education

-Valid, unrestricted current Pharmacist license in one of the 50 States

-Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

-At least 2 years of experience in pharmacy within the past six years

-Current PPD/TB Test

-Immunization or Titer records for MMR, Varicella, Hep B,Tetanus/Diptheria

-Medical Exam (within 45 days of position)
