Division: CHRISTUS Spohn Health Region Work Schedule: M-F - 1 weekend per month Average Hours per Week: 32 (0.8 fte) Travel Involved: 0-10% Job Type: Full-Time Relocation package offered: Category: Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapy The Staff Physical Therapist is directly responsible to the Manager/Coordinator and/or his or her designee, and has the responsibility for overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction and provide input for the evaluation of physical therapy assistants and supportive staff, volunteers and students utilized in the department / facility. Responsible for interpreting and carrying out the prescription of the physician per practice act guidelines; good public relations; protection of confidential data; economic use of time; equipment and supplies; and the safety and welfare of patients and other associates. Job Requirements
Graduate of a school of Physical Therapy approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education or the World Congress of Physical Therapy. Must have, or is eligible for, state licensure. Physical therapy license must be presented prior to employment. Current CPR certification is required.
New graduates are accepted for this position although experience is preferred.
Must know the principles and practice of Physical Therapy and be familiar with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and the Guide to Physical Therapy Practice. Must be able to apply the theory of Physical Therapy, have the ability and competency to operate the equipment used in his or her position; perform technical procedures; and speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others. Must exercise supervision and management skills and demonstrate customer, team, and interdepartmental / intradepartmental interaction based on the CHRISTUS Spohn Health System's Standards of Performance. Must provide patient care to a specific population of patients as documented on the associate specific Age-Specific Competency Assessment Checklist.
