Facility Description:
Fort Hood is the largest army post in the United States and the only two-division post in the United States. The two divisions on the base are the 1st Cavalry Division and the 4th Infantry Division. Fort Hood is also home to the 13th Sustainment Command and Darnall Army Community Hospital. It is the largest and busiest army community hospital in the country. The hospital serves approximately 10% of the Army based in the continental United States and also one sixth of the Army’s children. On a typical day, the hospital handles more than 3,800 outpatient visits, 26 surgeries, seven deliveries and 170 emergency room visits.

This includes a variety of activities that include swimming pools, sports fields, tennis courts, and a youth centers. Some of the other attractions in the area consist of rodeos, racing, theater, and historic sites.
