Job Description

Galt Medical is a rapidly growing manufacturer of high quality disposable medical devices for the interventional radiology and cardiology markets.  We currently have an opportunity for a Planner / Buyer. The Planner / Buyer is responsible for all purchasing and product scheduling in accordance with company and quality system requirements.

Job Duties:

Issues work orders to production to support build plan

Maintains inventory accuracy (cycle counts, inventory transactions, etc.)

Maintains document requirements relating to scheduling

Collaborates with Operations and Material Manager to define production schedule and build plan

Ensure that the manufacturing team utilizes their production time for the optimum strategy to achieve overall company and customer sales objectives

Well-defined schedules of both machines and manpower requirements

Evaluates vendor and manufacturing delivery dates to insure on time delivery.

Establishes and maintains procedures for purchasing and supplier quality files.

Maintains document requirements relating to purchasing and supplier records.

Issues purchase orders for materials to support build plan

Works with Quality Assurance to select appropriate vendors.

Collaborates with operations and Material Manager to define production schedule and build plan.
Manages two scheduling clerks

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

 A BA Degree and at least 5 years relevant experience in purchasing/scheduling in manufacturing is required. 

Skills:

Good communication/listening skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel Proficiency

Experience with ERP /MRP systems

Excellent organizational, planning and problem solving skills

Ability to work in a fast paced environment
