GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for defining, delivering, and promoting a flexible and cost effective corporate architecture that is driven from business needs.

Depending upon specific infrastructure focus, the Architect will need to: Collaboratively define and update the current state and future state Architectures for the front-end, back-end and core infrastructure services;

Develop and communicate the Technology Roadmap; Provide input to the business plan(s) for moving to future state;

Deliver the Technology Investment components of that Architecture (including sun-setting replaced components);

Collaboratively set standards for hardware and operating systems; Document patterns & best practices (for components above) & promote re-use;

Collaboratively govern standards.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree or equivalent; M.S. in Computer Science or related discipline preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

•  Minimum 8 years related experience.
• Preferred candidates will have a demonstrated knowledge of open systems/technologies and of web services.
• Experience working with multiple development groups and with outsourcing vendors a plus.
• Must possess deep technical knowledge with regard to connectivity/fabric/middleware, especially with regard to the access/egress components of Sabre�s infrastructure.
• Require that candidate is knowledgeable in LDAP, PCI compliance and SOA security.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Application Architecture: Identifies common business components and services that can be leveraged by multiple applications.
•  Product Life Cycle: Working knowledge of phases of the product life cycle, including engineering specifications, customer requirements gathering, software design and development, testing - including unit, functional, systems and integration � implementation/delivery and maintenance.
• Sabre Strategic Architecture: General knowledge of the company�s architectural practices and guidelines,
• Strategic Architectural Tenants, roadmap and security policies.
• Systems Analysis: Determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes, knowledge of products and system architecture .
•  Systems Design: Generates or adapts equipment and technology to serve user needs; contributes to the development of business landscape, business architectures and solution architectures.
• Systems Integration: Knowledge of how different systems interact, including potential problems and difficulties that may occur.
• Technology Architecture: Defines architecture requirements and deliverables; ensures procedures for on-going operational support.
• Technology Strategy: Understands the company�s technology direction; ensures product development links to strategic business and technical strategies and objectives; knows where business is going and builds features into technical solutions.
