Process Engineer (Transition to plant)

We operate in 11 state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities strategically located on four continents with our corporate headquarters located in Cleveland (Parma), OH. We sell to customers in about 80 countries worldwide.
The Process Engineer position will focus on the development of carbon and graphite materials and the processes required in manufacturing them. The candidate will have demonstrated successful design and implementation of manufacturing processes at pilot scale to full scale production plant levels to support new product development. This position will be responsible for collecting and recording data with an understanding of statistical principles. The candidate will adhere to the established health and safety procedures and perform related duties as assigned to achieve the department’s objectives. Travel to other GrafTech and customers’ production facilities to assist in plant trials or field test observations may be required. Initial activities will be centered on the R&D facility in Cleveland (Parma), OH. Possible relocation to other Graftech facilities may be considered based upon successful project developments.
Qualifications:
¨ Bachelor degree in an Engineering discipline.
¨ 1-7 years of development/research/industrial experience involving pilot plant scale-up or production plant level activities and qualification, use of equipment, processing, equipment design for multi-step processes.
¨ A working knowledge of manufacturing procedures and equipment.
¨ Proficient in computer software applications for equipment control, data collection and analysis.
¨ Demonstrated good mechanical skills.
¨ Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail work.
¨ Independent work is carried out in a team environment, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
¨ Ability to rotate between first and second shift will be required.
