The Stanley Leadership Program (SLP) is a comprehensive, competency-based program designed to develop the next generation of Stanley leaders.

The Product Research Analyst is a key member of the Stanley Industrial Discovery Team. This individual, acting independently or as part of a product development team, will:
1. Assure that needed global input and end-user feedback are obtained to define new product development requirements;
2. Provide key input on market requirements for product design and packaging, including ideas for new products; and
3. Obtain information cost-effectively on global product requirements to increase product sell-through.
Research to be conducted regionally as well as across US when required
Major Tasks and Level Accountability:
•Provide end user field research on unmet product needs, problems, and customer preferences through job-site interviews and observations, focus groups, direct customer interviews, etc.
•Work with Product Line Managers to develop surveys and requirements for end-user research
•Have ability to understand end-user needs and provide critical input on product requirements to Product Managers and design teams
•Establish an end-user network by which research can be conducted successfully. Must document and archive for future reference and use
•Provide recommendations for new product concepts and ideas
•Must be willing to travel both regionally, nationally and internationally (within North America) as required
Knowledge and Skills:
•Knowledge of tools and applications; previous work in industrial related profession is preferred but not required
•Must have Marketing and Research methods training/education
•Ability to interpret large amounts of information, e.g. from multiple end-user inputs, trade publications, financial reports and in-depth market research studies
•Must be creative, inquisitive and results-oriented
•Strong interpersonal communication skills; good data analysis and reporting/presentation skills
•Ability to collect and summarize data in a clear, concise format for ease of understanding
•Establish database and site for all data collected and studies performed. Must allow for easy access and review by others
•Ability to work independently and/or on a small team
•Results-oriented
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education or Experience sought:
•Proficient with MS-Office (Word, excel, etc)
•Project management experience a plus
•Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Statistics/Economics
