Currently, we have an opportunity available for a Production Supervisor.
As Production Supervisor in charge of various stages of Production the successful candidate is responsible for producing high quality product in a safe and efficient manner. The Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the environment in the production area in a clean and sanitary condition at all times and keeping material loss to a minimum. The Production Supervisor will also be responsible for the development of staff. Must be willing to support the Safety, Quality and Reliability initiatives of the Plant and Team.
The Production Supervisor:
· Assist the Area Business Manager and Department Manager in establishing work schedules. This includes the scheduling of personnel, materials, and finished products.
· Constantly check on processing and packaging of product and make decisions as to remedial action.
· Maintain detailed and accurate production records (LEDS, Prism, etc.). Assist in the training and evaluation of employees assigned to the department. Review operations and implement corrective action for improvements and changes.
· At this job level, the supervisor gets involved to a degree in the planning for the department. This planning would include such things as manpower requirements and the establishment of production schedule to ensure on time shipments of product.
· Responsible for labor variance in the department.
· Responsible for material variance in the department.
· Responsible for controlling expenses in the area.
· Direct daily operation of the department to meet customer requirements within the limits of machine and manpower capacity.
· Maintain a level of GMP which meets all federal, state, local, and company sanitation requirements.
· Maintain product quality standards and results acceptable to customer and company requirements.
· Maintain cost control and cost reduction programs to achieve optimal results.
· Evaluate performance of departmental personnel and take appropriate actions. Appraising performance, scheduling work, administering discipline, and providing the necessary guidance and training.
· Handle special assignments given by Area Business Manager.
· Perform other related projects or special assignments as the business demands or necessitates.
Job Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· BS/BA Degree
· Experience in Manufacturing
· Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to fill out routing reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and convey information to other employees.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for an extended period of time.
· Ability to lift and carry average weight is 20lbs. and maximum weigh 25lbs.
· Ability to climb stairs to reach operating platform of some machines.
Work schedules: The workweek could vary depending upon production requirements. It may include Saturdays, Sundays, or Holidays with a specific weekday or rotating day off.
Quality Control:
1. Will follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
2. Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
3. Will be accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
4. Actively support the production of quality products on all production lines.
