The Director Quality Assurance plans, directs and coordinates activities in the Quality Assurance Department to assure compliance with Schneller, Customer, Industry and Government Regulatory requirements and specifications. Responsible for quality improvement, facilitate solving production problems and maintaining all documentation associated with a typical quality system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Business Management System
- Assure compliance to Schneller’s Business Management System/ISO9001/AS9101 current requirements and Schneller’s Quality Manual. Approve documents as Department Head, Quality.
- Establish and maintain training programs for Quality Assurance and Inspection personnel to aid in understanding of customer and regulatory requirements.
- Manage calibration system to recognized national standards.
- Manage Internal Audit system to ISO9001/AS9101 requirements. Plan, implement and document annual Internal Audit Plan. Review all completed internal audits and follow up on corrective actions. Manage on time completion of action items with other Department Managers.
- Perform Internal Audits as required to assure on time completion per schedule.
- Final disposition of non-conforming products except when customer P.O. or specifications withhold authority.
- Manage the Corrective and Preventive action Systems which are fundamental to continuous improvement.
- Manage the testing of incoming raw materials.
- Assure accuracy of test equipment.
- Carry out other activities as directed by Department Head.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Competency Requirements)
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or Science.
- 10 plus years in the quality assurance field with a minimum of 3 years management experience.
- Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 and FAA flammability requirements.
- Knowledge of recognized national standards for calibration systems.
- Knowledge of Problem Solving (Root Cause Analysis) tools for Corrective Action implementation and/or approval.
- Quality experience in a plastic or coating manufacturing environment (highly desired)
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally with minimal notification, travel is 10 – 15 %.
- Ability to facilitate, organize and conduct team meetings.
- Project management skills are highly recommended.
- Team builder with hands on managment experience (required)
