SUMMARY: The Development Consultant(s) has direct responsibility for executing a comprehensive major gift development program that includes individual, labor, corporate and foundation gifts..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plan and implement comprehensive annual giving program to solicit annual gifts through major gifts and working with organized labor on a workforce giving plan.

Identify, cultivate, solicit and maintain relationships with donors through personal meetings and solicitations.
RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to the Community Chapter Executive.

Works with other members of the Regional Chapter and its Fund Development staff, both paid and volunteer.

Works with Philanthropy Committee at the Community Chapter

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five year’s Annual Fund experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience along with a proven record of managing volunteers effectively and achieving fundraising and participation goals.. Demonstrated successful experience in fundraising campaigns and financial development. Knowledge/experience in planned giving, personal solicitation, and direct mail.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers. Ability to work with people in leadership and supporting positions, individually or in groups. High level proficiency must be demonstrable in the application and hands-on use of fundraising software, preferably Raiser’s Edge, to reach fundraising objectives. Proficiency must also be demonstrable in the hands-on use of Microsoft software including Word and Excel and PowerPoint to produce accurate documents, reports and presentations.
