Windsor Health Group is a managed healthcare company operating government sponsored health plans and providing specialty managed care services to both the insurance and healthcare provider communities. We are currently hiring a   Regional Director  to join our Executive Team in the Birmingham, AL area.

POSITION DESCRIPTION, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting to the President or VP of Special Care Plans of the company,  this position will manage and oversee all of the operations of the health plan in the assigned regional office
  • Day to day supervision of sales, provider relations, contracting and administrative staff in regional office to maintain a balance between overall corporate goals and individual department processes and procedures
  • Promote team work concept in the region among all departments.
  • Communicate with Company Vice Presidents on issues affecting their departments
  • Stay abreast of state wide political issues that could impact the company
  • Build relationships with state-wide agencies and work with local officials. (Ex. Medicaid, SHIPP, Area on Aging, Dept. of Health, Dept. of Mental Health)
  • Working knowledge of state healthcare associations
  • Understanding of the healthcare network across the state
  • Assure smooth administration of processes and procedures within the office including maintaining adequate supplies and plan materials
  • Serve as the regional ambassador and local company contact person for providers and other community organizations and representatives
  • Attend local and regional health care and community events to represent company, as well as state wide conferences focused on health care and the senior market


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field and at least 3 years management in Healthcare Operations field
  • Prior management experience supervising at least two functional areas of medical insurance plan
  • Knowledge of Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D preferred
  • Knowledge of community cultures, traditions and demographics
  • Effective written, verbal, and personal presentation skills, including experience presenting to large and small audiences
  • Must have reliable transportation as frequent regional travel will be required (up to 50%)
