Job Description
The Clinical Manager is responsible for the operation of the clinical activities of the Wound Care Center/Wound Management Program (WCC/WMP). Under the supervision of the Program Director and in collaboration with the Medical Director, the Clinical Manager hold responsibilities for coordination of clinical services to provide consistent quality care for patients with wounds in inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaborates closely with physicians, outpatient and inpatient health care professionals and WCC/WMP staff. Responsibilities include utilization of skills in organization, leadership, planning, implementing, evaluating and providing care of adult and geriatric clients. Works within the framework of the State Nurse Practice Act and follows all Curative, WCC/WMP and affiliate hospital policies and procedures. Complies with Hospital, WCC/WMP, and Nursing philosophies/standards in the performance of job duties and responsibilities. Demonstrates competence in these performance standards through the ability to perform functions including but not limited to the common examples listed with each performance standard. Supports the goals and objectives of Curative Health Services.
- Provides and supervises direct patient care in the Wound Care setting.
- Provides assessment and planning for individualized patient care.
- Communicates with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition including: Patient wound condition and results of diagnostic studies.
- Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
- Performs general nursing duties in adolesent to Geriatric Health departments with adequate supervision.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Provides service to age range from adolesant to Adult.
Job Requirements
A. Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
B. Graduate of accredited school of nursing preferred. Bachelor's Degree of Nursing preferred.
C. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience; some ambulatory experience highly desired.
D. Minimum two (2) years prior supervisory or health care management experience preferred.
E. Current CPR.
