Job Description

PanThera Biopharma, a subsidiary of Science & Technology International, Inc. (STI), is a leading developer of small molecule therapeutics for both the emerging infectious disease and biodefense markets. As part of the STI companies (a premier Life Sciences Accelerator with a 25 year history of growth and success in developing technology with global market appeal), PanThera is leading the nation in developing a small molecule therapeutic for late stage exposure to weaponized anthrax and is targeting the U.S. Strategic National Stockpile for acquisition of its biodefense therapeutics.

The RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, LEAD DISCOVERY position will interact with multiple project teams and will be required to communicate clearly among diverse scientific disciplines. Critical evaluation of results and independent thinking are expected. Documentation of results as high-quality internal reports is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform biochemical and cell based assays.
• Perform experiments in molecular biology, protein purification and crystallization.
• Data analysis and report preparation.
• Maintain an up-to-date, detailed laboratory notebook.
• Maintain a safe, clean laboratory environment.


Job Requirements

• BS in biological sciences with 2 to 5 years lab experience.
• Experience with biochemical and cell based assays.
• Experience with molecular biology experiments.
• Ability to work independently in the execution of scientific experiments.
• Willingness to learn new technologies related to the field of drug discovery.
• Willingness to work in a Biosafety Level 2 facility.
• Desire to contribute and collaborate in an entrepreneurial, small company environment.
