WVMI, a nationally recognized resource for health-care quality improvement, is seeking independent contractors for medical data abstraction. Must be an RN with a valid license or hold current RHIA or RHIT certification and have recent clinical experience. Data abstraction experience and knowledge of HEDIS and Joint Commission hospital quality measures a plus. Solid computer skills are required. This is stimulating, steady work with virtually unlimited earnings potential. Most work is done from the abstractor’s home, with a visit to an area medical center at least once per month. (Most assignments will require automobile travel only.) Must have access to broadband Internet (cable or DSL). Areas of needed coverage include the following cities (we are seeking individuals who reside within one of these cities or within easy ground traveling distance of it): Albany, NY; Albuquerque; Altoona, PA; Bay Pines, FL; Las Vegas; Miami; RENO; and West Palm Beach, FL.
A valid RN license in state of assignment OR current RHIA or RHIT certification is required.
Must have strong computer skills, with access to broadband Internet.
Four years of recent clinical and/or HIM experience needed.
Data abstracting experience helpful.
Some travel using personal transportation will be required.
Evidence of stable work history will be considered.
